Love Is In the Air with Handmade Paper Castings

Love Is In the Air

February is the month all thoughts turn to LOVE and caring. We reach out to the people in our lives and tell them that they are important to us and that we love them. What better way to add a small memento to the cards we hand deliver than with a perfect hand cast paper heart! I was recently given a stack of pre-printed cards and had no idea what I would do with them until I remembered the hearts I had cast previously. The cards went together in less than 5 minutes each and could easily be done in multiples. * WARNING: paper casting is addictive.....smile.

Supplies:

Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits
Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
A sunny window
• Scraps of white/ivory paper (think junk mail, etc.)
• AG Heart Mold
Scraps of white card stock to die cut
Pre-printed cards & envelopes
Tiny white/ivory paper rose
Die: MemoryBox™ #99927 “be mine”
Crafter's Companion Gemini Junior TM ™ die cutting and embossing machine
Westcott™ paper trimmer
Beacon: ZipDry™ &  QuickGripTM  adhesive

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to
create white slurry and cast two or more of the heart castings.
2. Allow the castings to dry.
3. Feminine card: landscape orientation. Use QuickGrip to attach the rose to the top center
of the heart casting, then attach heart to the center of the pre-printed card.
4. Masculine card: portrait orientation.  Die cut the words “be mine” twice. Layer and glue
together with ZipDry adhesive. Use QuickGrip to attach the heart casting to the top center
of the pre-printed card. Use ZipDry adhesive to attach the words to the bottom right of
    the card.
