Envelope Accordion Book

Image
©Anne Rita Taylor 2016 I wanted to give some suggestions to my friend who was  traveling  this summer. My envelope accordion book was fun and most appreciated ! Supplies: Arnold Grummer Paper Making Handmade paper - 2 pieces 4 x 5 inches Arnold Grummer Mini Zig Zag Books Ribbon, 18 inches  PVA or Mod Podge glue, and Scotch tape Bonefolder, scissors, ruler Magazines or calendars Begin by folding the inside of the four accordion pages in half, so now you have eight sides plus the two covers which are not folded. Making the envelopes: I used flower pictures from Martha Stewart’s Living magazine. I made my template to fit the 3 1/2 inches accordion page. Before gluing up the bottom and sides, it is 4 1/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide. After you have four envelopes, place glue on half of the front of the envelope and glue each envelope to the half accordion page. Instead of writing my own travel advice, I...

Happy Wednesday good people!!  Seemed only appropriate to do something for Valentine's Day, which happens to be this Saturday.. ::insert sappy-like music here::  (chuckles) I am having a ball learning about creating my own papers.  This week I even added *inclusions* (that's when you add things to your pulp y'all)  I added some dried roses I had received from a friend, Tommy Jo, who is a fantastic artist and soap maker!! Let me show you the accordion book I made! I have 2 different types of papers here.  The pink paper was from a previous batch of tissue papers, napkins and soda can boxes.  The green is my rose batch.  Here's a list of the supplies I used to create my project for today..  Any of the  Arnold Grummer Paper Mill Kits Arnold Grummer Zig Zag Book Dried roses Blender Water Pearl Ex- Green-Yellow and Red-Blue Perfect Medium  Brush Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue Fiber/Yarn Paper Flowers (to embellish) ...

Mother's Day Scented Accordian Fold Album

Image
Give mom this handmade album this May and make her day extra special.  The handmade paper has been made even more unique with a chocolate scent.  What mom doesn't love a handmade gift and chocolates?      Begin by making 2 different colors of paper using one of the  Papermill kits  according to the instructions.  For the front and back covers of the book, I mixed a pink and purple pulp together that had been dyed using some of the  Tissue Tints .   After pouring the pulp into the deckle, I added some ground cacao nibs to the mixture to give it a chocolate scent.  You can also use cocoa powder to add to it.  When ironing, place a paper towel over the sheet of paper so that the chocolate is not in direct contact with the heat.  Use a cooler setting on the iron when ironing it.  It just needs to be warm enough to lay the sheet flat.       The second she...

Postcards By the Sea!

Working with papers you have made yourself is rewarding.  When you tell people you made the paper yourself they are amazed. There are so many things you can add to the paper you make and so many ways to use your handmade papers.  Today I am using more of my blue handmade paper.  Yes, I made it with the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit !  I cannot stress enough how easy it is to make paper with the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit .  If you have never made paper with Arnold Grummer's  Papermill Complete Kit , be sure to watch the Basic Paper Making video .  Making paper is so much easier than you ever thought. Using the  Arnold Grummer's Accordion Fold Book  I made my Postcards by the Sea book! TO MAKE THE BOOK First, cover the chipboard front and back with hand made paper.  Adhere ribbon to the back cover of the accordion book. Spritz the accordion pages with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mi...
