Good Morning! Welcome to a new week and Spring!! Remember the colorful envelopes I made paper from in my last post? I had some leftover paper which I decided to use for a canvas. I used a pretty pink piece of paper for the background. I printed the quote directly onto the paper. Yes, it went through my printer just fine. I am okay with the smudge or two that it does have. I Mod Podged the background to a 5 x 7 flat panel canvas. I hand cut leaves from several of the other colors and added a beaded tie. This was glued to the background. I find this quote to be inspiring and have this hanging above my desk. Don't you love the way it looks? Remember - don't just save those birthday cards! Save the envelopes too!! Today I made a canvas.  I used one of molds my friend Mitzi gifted me.  Arnold Grummer has a plethora of  casting molds  available for you on the website.  After reading  The Art of Paper Casting , a book that can be purchased on the site, I learned how to properly prepare a mold for casting paper.  Almost like baking in a pan, you usually start out brushing a little oil on the mold to assist with the release of the paper cast.  You don't have to do it every time, but if you ever have a problem removing a dry cast from the mold.. that is one sure way to resolve it. Hi everyone, this is my first post as an official member of the Arnold Grummer Design Team and I am so excited about making paper. It has been a blast to play with and it thrills my frugal heart to know that I am recycling! I admit I was a little timid about making actual paper at first so I began by making lots of pulp ( which are processed fibers ) and watching lots of Arnold Grummer videos . I really enjoy watching his videos and would love to have met him in person, I bet he was a lot of fun to be around!  The first video that really caught my eye was the one on Paper Pulp Painting.  So I took his idea and ran with it.While I working on it I had artists from the studio peering over my shoulder as I literally painted a canvas with paper pulp. I think what I enjoyed the most was using the pin technique to paint the black lines with. When you dip the pin into your paper slurry ( water with fibers ) it will pick up the fibers and you can then use the pin to "draw"...
