Create a Journal Using Handmade Papers

Have you made a lot of papers with your Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Mill ?  Wondering what to do with some of the papers?  Do you love journal books?  Have a friend that a journal would be the perfect gift.  Here is  an easy journal to make!     Find an old book about half the size of the handmade papers (8 1/2 x 11) you will be using to fill your book .     Cut the pages out of the book and remove the back spine. Gather handmade papers to fill the book (8 1/2 x 11), cut them in half.     Cut them in half, to give the sheets a handmade edge use a scor-pal to score the paper.     With a make  a q-tip wet the score and gently rip the paper.     Punch three holes in the  book cover, use it as a guide to punch the holes in the handmade papers!   All the beautiful papers look wonderful together.     To...

With Spring Come Mothers Day!

My mother loved hummingbirds! We would give them to her on special occasions. If I found a card with on for Mother's Day, that was the perfect card. Today I have a card made completely with handmade papers using the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit . If this is your first time hearing about hand made paper with Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit , be sure to watch the  Basic Paper Making video making paper couldn't be any easier.  This past weekend was a paper making weekend!  I usually start with paper from out paper shredder.  I made papers with  Arnold Grmmer's Gold Dust ,  Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes  and specialty pulp. The purple, pink and green papers were made with scrapes or of color cardstock. Working with papers you have made yourself is rewarding.  When you tell people you made the paper yourself they are amazed. There are so many things you can add to the paper you make and so many ways to use your handmade papers.  Today I am using more of my blue handmade paper.  Yes, I made it with the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit !  I cannot stress enough how easy it is to make paper with the Arnold Grummer's Papermill Complete Kit .  If you have never made paper with Arnold Grummer's  Papermill Complete Kit , be sure to watch the Basic Paper Making video .  Making paper is so much easier than you ever thought. Angel Wings, Sparkle and Paper!

Playing with the Arnold Grummer's  Papermill Complete Kit  has been  addictive. Be sure to watch the  Basic Paper Making video . I may have said it before, but I was intimidated by making handmade papers.  Now I can't stop! I am continually experimenting! I want to share a few of techniques I did while making the papers above.     Made colored paper pulp to add to my base paper.  Added whole Angel Wings and rose petals to my paper.   Used glitter with the Angel Wings! Note: I did not show all the steps in the papermaking process in this post, just the additives I added to the paper I made.  Using scraps of paper I made colored paper pulp.  I wanted to add a splash or pink, yellow and orange to the paper I would add Angel Wings of the same color. Old Fashion Valentines with Handmade Paper!

It is getting close to Valentine's Day!  Soon you will be sending a card, gift or both to loved ones.  Make an old fashioned Valentine with your own handmade papers to make it very special. For the Valentines here I used the Arnold Grummer's Heart Template and the Envelope Template from the Cards and Tags Template Collection . I stared with scraps of colored paper, if you are like me you have tons of scraps of paper.  For this project I used papers that were solid (nothing with a white core).   Be sure to follow the directions in your kit or Basic Paper Making video ! Using the Papermill Complete Kit you can see the template for the heart card in the water ready for the pulp to be poured in.    I also cast some flowers and birds in silicone molds I have.
