Hello, Ann here today with  my small tribute to the people of Paris, France.  A few days ago the world was shocked to see and hear of the sad events that took place there.  My intended project and post was very different, but on Friday evening when I saw on television what was happening in my cousins' homeland I was compelled to make this: It is a small piece that I will insert into my art journal in the next coming days, but for now it is a small vigil to remind us of the fragility of life. To make this project I used one sheet of handmade paper I made using the Arnold Grummer Paper Making Method.  The actual pulp comes from some international (Europe) packaging I had in the recycling bin and I thought it befitting the situation. With a stamp of the Eiffel Tower and inks I stamped the image onto the paper.  I let it dry thoroughly. This wonderful door hanging makes the perfect decoration to celebrate Memorial Day this month or Flag Day in June.  Leave it up year round to show your love of the red, white and blue.  The handmade paper and molded flags make this decoration one of a kind and you can easily make it using the wonderful products from Arnold Grummer's Papermaking !     Begin by creating the red, white and blue sheets of paper using one of the Papermill Kits and the basic papermaking instructions.  Once they sheets have dried, cut them to size and attach them to the Paper Quilt Project Squares .      Cast several flag pieces using the US Flag mold and cotton linters  according to the directions included with the cotton linters.  For the red and blue flags add some of the Tissue Tints for the color.  Trim any rough edges off easily by tracing a circle around the molded piece and then using a pair of scissors to cut out ...
