To Paris With Love

Image
Hello, Ann here today with  my small tribute to the people of Paris, France.  A few days ago the world was shocked to see and hear of the sad events that took place there.  My intended project and post was very different, but on Friday evening when I saw on television what was happening in my cousins' homeland I was compelled to make this: It is a small piece that I will insert into my art journal in the next coming days, but for now it is a small vigil to remind us of the fragility of life. To make this project I used one sheet of handmade paper I made using the Arnold Grummer Paper Making Method.  The actual pulp comes from some international (Europe) packaging I had in the recycling bin and I thought it befitting the situation. With a stamp of the Eiffel Tower and inks I stamped the image onto the paper.  I let it dry thoroughly. Then I cut out the image leaving a frame around it which I inked in Black.  Because I already had the Red, Whit...

©Michele Emerson-Roberts 2015 The Independence Day celebration has become a yearly neighborhood pot luck get together. You know that I love paper casting using the many molds available from the Arnold Grummer website.  I often will cast items ahead of time using up the slurry I made for previous projects. Several months ago when I was using the CP “Nature’s Miniatures” mold from AG, I created a lot of the “star” castings knowing that I would need invitations for the 4 th of July celebration. They went together quickly and will be a big hit when they are hand delivered next week. Supplies: Any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits Microwave , heat tool or a sunny window CP “Nature’s Miniatures” casting mold Blender, cello sponges and soft towels Beacon QuickGrip™ Adhesive, Scraps of white (think junk mail, etc.) 5 ½ x 8 ½” red card stock for each card Envelopes to fit cards (or make your own with the AG envelope template)...

A Heart & Rose Box

©Michele Emerson-Roberts 2015 I love paper casting using the many molds available from the Arnold Grummer website. When I created the heart paper castings a couple of weeks ago for the “Heart Potpourri Holder,” I also had several other projects in mind and cast additional hearts. (Note: I always make additional castings when I have the supplies out…..smile.) I had picked up the little wooden box and knew one of the many paper casting would be the perfect element for the top of the box. I actually had pieces of the dark red and dark green paper left from some other projects and used them for this project…… however the instruction below are to make new sheets of each as well as a new casting. Supplies: Any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits   Microwave , heat tool or a sunny window Heart casting mold Blender, cello sponges and soft towels Beacon ZipDry™ and QuickGrip™ Adhesive, Scraps of white, red, and dark green paper (think junk mail,...

Show Your Patriotism This Memorial Day

Image
This wonderful door hanging makes the perfect decoration to celebrate Memorial Day this month or Flag Day in June.  Leave it up year round to show your love of the red, white and blue.  The handmade paper and molded flags make this decoration one of a kind and you can easily make it using the wonderful products from Arnold Grummer's Papermaking !     Begin by creating the red, white and blue sheets of paper using one of the Papermill Kits and the basic papermaking instructions.  Once they sheets have dried, cut them to size and attach them to the Paper Quilt Project Squares .      Cast several flag pieces using the US Flag mold and cotton linters  according to the directions included with the cotton linters.  For the red and blue flags add some of the Tissue Tints for the color.  Trim any rough edges off easily by tracing a circle around the molded piece and then using a pair of scissors to cut out ...
