Hi everyone! I made another pressed flower card today using my Arnold Grummer Garden Press , now that summer is here and flowers are blooming I can see this hobby as addictive as paper making! Speaking of flowers, I used Sea Lavender flowers in my paper as a surface embedment. You can go here to watch Arnold Grummer himself demonstrate this method in a video. I had to do a little research on what type of flower this was, lol It's called Statice Flowers, common names are  Sea foam, sea lavender, limonium, latifolia, marsh rosemary.  Grown for both its colorful  flowers  and its everlasting calyx (the green leaf that encloses the  flower  bud),  statice  is also considered an herb, referred to as “sea lavender.” Statice  is commonly used in dried  flower  arrangements as well as fresh bouquets.  The base of the paper comes from an old phone book directory that I tore up when I got my new one...who uses phone book...

Hi everyone, today I made a card using both the Papermill Kit and the Garden Press  to create my Sympathy Card. (Please go here for the steps to make your paper.) The first thing you want to do is choose the flowers that you are going to use as a decorative element for your card. The best flowers to use are ones that are freshly opened which is when the colors are the best. Flowers are fragile ( you can see where I tore one of my Climbing Black Eyed Susan flowers when I was laying it in the press ) Although you can carry the press out into a flower garden and gather your flowers there, I simply stepped out onto my balcony and gathered some from a potted plant. Here is a great site on pressing flowers. When my flowers were ready, I removed them from the press and using Deco Art's Soft Varnish, I adhered it to the front of a piece of handmade paper. After it had dried I stitched French Knots in the center of the flowers and a running stitch for the stems. ...

Hello everyone. My name is Debbie Buckland and I am from New Zealand. I am so excited to be on the Arnold Grummer's Design Team! Well I haven't made paper since before I was married! I think I was still living at home with Mum and Dad as I remember mum complaining there was paper drying everywhere around the house…. LOL Well now I'm annoying my hubby thanks to the Arnold Gummer team! he he I have 7 months to go and I will have my own craft room to work in but until then I am working in the kitchen. I started off opening the Paper Mill Complete Paper Making Kit #301 (Pour Method kit) and watching the DVD provided. (not pictured) and then bought a Blender specifically for the purpose of making paper and a bin.
