Quick and Easy Embossed Snowflake Card by Steph

Image
Quick and Easy Embossed Card Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with a quick and easy Embossed Snowflake card using handmade papers created with the A rnold Grummer Papermaking Kit . How to  Tearing a sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock, place it into a blender with 2 cups of water.  Blend it until you've created slurry. Using the Large Pour Mold ,  pour the slurry into the mold.  Remove the paper and squeeze out all the excess water. Allow to dry thoroughly for a wonderful piece of paper. To create my card, I simply cut the paper to fit my embossing folder.  Using blue and black inks from ImagineCrafts ,  I inked the embossing folder, placed the panel inside and then embossed it.  Next, I die cut it so it would fit my card.  I matted the panel with white cardstock, then added it to a blue card.  Next, I wrapped the card with ribbon.  A simple die cut phrase from Joy Clair was added ...

Altered Notebook by Steph Ackerman

Image
Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with an altered notebook using handmade papers created with the Arnold Grummer papermaking kit. Select a sheet of paper from any of the handmade papers already created and adhere it to a notebook.  Cut off any excess and corner round the edges. Stamp around the notebook with a wordy stamp from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps.  Picking up on the green particles in the paper, I inked the notebook with green ink. Next, I placed a stencil on the notebook and used molding paste on the design.   Once dry I repositioned the stencil so I could add color to the design. I finish off by adding additional color as needed. Thanks for stopping by.

Collaged Beachfront Canvas with Tamiko

Image
Happy Earth Day!!  Today is the day that people all over the world collect garbage, recycle things, plant trees and flowers all in the spirit of Earth Day .  Earth Day should be practiced every day!  Every little bit counts!  Today I tried something a little different.  This is my version of a collaged canvas.  I used recycled handmade papers of different colors and textures and collaged a small beach scene.  I hope to get better with these and  add more and more organic elements.  That's just a personal artistic goal of mine.  Here is my canvas..  As Always I began with my handmade papers  by simply using one of the pour or dips methods for creating paper found  here .  I took various colors I made and tore them to create layers on the canvas.  After I layered the papers the way I wanted.. I adhered them with Helmar's Craft and Hobby PVA Glue .  After everything was set.. I  pulled out my t...

Today I decided to make something a little extra to go with my international pen pal letter.  She told me she drinks tea and I had the perfect idea.  I knew I knew I could use my handmade papers, a few templates and send something truly special.  This is something I am  putting in her small package from me. Items needed to create this would include: Any of the Arnold Grummer Papermill Kits Skeleton Leaves Card and Tag Template Collection Gift Card and Envelope Template Tags for Cards and Pages Template Blender shredded papers dried roses Michael Strong Rubber Stamp Sakura Gelly Roll Pen Wink of Stella Clear Brush May Roads Purple twine Helmar Super Tac  Glue First you take a handful of shredded papers and put then in the blender with 2-3 cups of water.  Blend to create pulp.  Add some dried roses. Blend some more again.  Before pouring pulp into the deckle, make sure that you sandwich the template needed between the deckl...

DreamCatcher Card with Tamiko

Hey folks.. Happy Wednesday!  I have a friend I who pops up on my screen every now and then, just to say HELLO!  She brightens my day!  Lovely lady makes me laugh almost instantly. We share a few giggles.. and then she disappears.. ::smiles:: I created a card in thought of her.  You see she loves dreamcatchers and while I haven't quite learned to do the cording of the sinew, yet ::winks::.  This is my interpretation of one.. The supplies I began with were only made possible after using any one of the   Arnold Grummer Paper Mill Kits  to create my awesome papers.  I needed 1 and 1/2 sheets for this project. Then you also need: Faber Castell- Glass Bead Glitter Gel Faber Castell- Metallic Purple Gelato Faber Castell- Big Brush Pen Purple Violet Helmar's  Super-Tac Glue Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive metal flower, beads, fiber and wooden embellishment spatula  paint brush scissors The sheets of paper I used in this c...

Just the Basics!

Image
I am really excited to be on the Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Design Team.  I love working with hand made papers! I must confess, I have never made handmade paper before! So we are going to start at the very beginning. I highly recommend watching the video on the BASIC PAPER MAKING tab at the top of this page!  I thought paper making would be difficult... I think that is what put the fear of paper making in me.  You will not believe how easy paper making is using the ARNOLD GRUMMER'S COMPLETE PAPER MAKING KIT . The design of the "hand mold" makes paper making so easy!!! With the kit you will receive a DVD with more information on how to create cast paper molds.  Today I am sharing paper cast molds. To make my paper pulp I used papers out of the paper shredder. Added enough water to make pulp. A loose handful of paper and about 2-3- cups of water! A little pulp goes a long way! Then I filled the Arnold Grummer's Paper Casting Strainer  about half...

Mini Inspiration Journal

Image
This is my last project as a member of the Arnold Grummer's Papermaking Design Team. I would like to begin my post by thanking the wonderful people at Arnold Grummer's Papermaking and Terri Sproul for this most awesome opportunity to be a part of the Design Team and work with their products. For this project I made a Mini Inspiration Journal using one of Arnold Grummer's Papermaking Fan Decks. This is one of the coolest ways to make a small book because everything you need to make the book comes in the package. All you need is your own creativity.   Above is a picture of what comes in the package. 2 cover, a screw post (to hold it all together) and 52 ATC sized cards (2.5" x 3.5"). This will come assembled, I took it apart so you could have a better view of all the pieces. This is how I made my Mini Inspiration Journal.   The first thing I did was to Gesso the covers. I did this to prepare the covers for the next layer. Next I added a layer ...
