Hello Crafters! This project was the most fun I've had in a long time!  Paper Piecing is a fantastic way to use up scraps of gorgeous paper, as well as create different textures, patterns and colors for your project. Hi all - Debbie here My paper making is coming on really well… I've been making coloured paper by adding a little square of colour to my white-ish recycled paper pulp. My results… and as you notice in that photo I have been painting chicks… These are samples of my chicks that I have been painting in my exploration of Chinese Brush painting. Its been a real blast learning how to use a paintbrush differently and using black ink only. but we should get back to the Easter thing aye… ;) I have been making easter cards by combining the chick paintings and my handmade recycled papers. step 1: choose one sheet of your handmade paper for the base of your card that is close to the thickness of card stock. 2. trim your 2 other chosen colours of handmade papers that would go with the base and trim them a little smaller than each other as shown. don't stick them down yet 3. All of these birds were made from scraps that any normal crafter would have discarded. I rescued them from the trash bin and a life spent in a landfill. I never throw away ANY of my handmade paper—no matter how small the scrap. The papers were handmade using Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Kit and  following these basic directions . The birds and their wings were cut with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Caged Bird die. Making resin paper is easy, but definitely requires some advance work station preparation. Cover your entire work surface with plastic trash bags. Next, cover a cookie sheet with food storage bags. Strive for a flat, wrinkle-free surface. (NOTE: I used plastic film and it wasn't strong enough. Not a tragedy, but next time, I'll use the food storage bags.) I've created . . . an owl! Enjoy this Halloween video. Instructions for the card below.     To make the speckled paper for the front wing, I added Arnold Grummer yellow anglewings botanicals to white pulp. The tree branch is made from magazine paper-- so, recycled but not handmade. The rest of the owl is made with handmade paper. To get the black outlines on the wing, face and branch, glue the cut out peices onto a slightly larger peice of black paper and trim very close to the shape
