Oh, Blarney!

This project is a small scrapbook page for my travel journal. My trip to Ireland in 2016 was my Trip of a Lifetime! There were definitely many shades of green to take in. My most coveted place to visit was the Blarney Castle, the grounds were breath-taking and yes, I kissed the Blarney Stone :o) This project started with a very large batch of green handmade paper, I have lots of photos to scrapbook into memories. Supplies: Arnold Grummer Paper Making Kit Arnold Grummer Cotton Linter  Foliage background stamp (unknown), Green Ink-Ranger (Bottle), Brown Ink-Close to my Heart (Cocoa), Scrap brown paper, lime colored twine, photo, Computer printed title. 3 different sized circle punches. Instructions: 1. Create your hand-made paper. I used scraps of many dark green card stock, scrap computer paper (white) and cotton linter. Trim background paper to project size (5.5 x 8.5") 2. Traveling Memories Mini Scrapbook

Today I have a mini Traveling Memories Scrapbook to show you. Here is a photo of the supplies I used to make it...When making handmade paper, think junk mail. I used the Arnold Grummer Papermaking Kit to make my papers. I love it and love the way no two papers turn out the same.   You will need a cereal box or cardboard of some sort. I cut mine to 8" long by 3" wide. I then scored each side at the 3" mark which made a center piece of 1" for the spine. I then reinforced the spine with another piece of cardboard cut just a smidge smaller than 1" and used my Helmar Tacky Craft Glue to glue it in the center.  I then cut two more pieces 3" by 3 1/2" and glued those to each side to reinforce them. You need a strong glue to glue these in place, that is why I chose Helmars. Creating Memories Using Handmade Paper and Books

Memories are a very important thing to hold onto for every person.  I will be collecting some very special memories through photos this summer and wanted a nice book to keep them in so I created this book using a sheet of handmade paper.  This would also make a great book for any mom to keep her Mother's Day memories in, too.     I wanted to add a lot of color to the first sheet so I made 2 bowls of pulp and used a ladle to pour each color into the deckle in various spots.  If you see spots where one color is more dominant and you don't want that just add some of the second color into that spot.  Make sure you have enough pulp in the deckle to create a full sheet of paper.   This is what the sheet looks like before it is finished off using the basic instructions .  Isn't the color of it gorgeous?  Since I will be using this book this summer, I wanted it to be bright colors so I used scraps of leftover card stock that I had fr...
