Take Care of YOU Note Cards with Tamiko

Image
I am really a fan of these tiny little delicate cards that you can make with templates found over at Arnold Grummer . You can find a lot of the available templates by clicking here !  You can use the templates while making fresh papers or you can use the templates as stencils and cut from handmade papers or papers of any kind. With today's project, I made the small cards and envelopes using the Cards & Tags Templates  attached to the Medium Dip Handmold . I used some old tissue papers I already had and ran them through the blender to create the paper slurry. After sandwiching my deckle, template and screen on my water basin, I poured the slurry into the deckle, shook it a little and lift it from the water basin.  Once the template was removed.  I took a sponge and screen and pressed access water from the new made page and envelope. Let it dry over night and decorated with small embellishment.  Today's embellishment happens to be a lil deli paper and ...

Botanical gift card

Image
Adding  botanicals  in the deckle and within the  Cards and tags template  can create a very special gift card, perfect for any special occasion. You can break them apart, but I loved the look of keeping one whole and making it the focal point. Make your paper according to directions and add your pulp into the template. Before lifting your mold out of the water you will want to place your botanical in position. You need to get a few fibers over the botanical to tie it into place and you can use your finger to gently push it down into the pulp, then lift your mold out and couch like normal. It is not recommended to dry your paper made with botanical with heat, the preferred method is drying under pressure. I love my paper press for this! Keeping sets of these tags on hand are a great idea so you can be ready for any occasion with a handmade gift card.

Bookmark in Faith with Tamiko

I love my handmade papers.  While I don't quite make them in bulk to gift to anyone yet, I do make samples of my papers in the form of bookmarks to give people a chance to experience the varieties of papers and types of paper that can be made if you just think to not just recycle.. but recycling by colors also help.  Here is a bookmark I will be gifting a few friends for the new year. I always refer people to the Arnold Grummer YouTube Channel, where there is a plethora of video how-tos done by Arnold Grummer himself and members of our design team, don't forget to subscribe!  These papers were first created with scraps from holiday wrapping papers.  I followed the instructions shown  for the dip method, here.. for creating paper with my AG Papermill Kit . Then I traced the tags with the Medium Template:Tags for Cards and Pages , so I would have a cleaner edge. Using the template with the paper mill, creates a deckled edge to the handmade paper. After ...

LOVE to READ with Tamiko

Image
Hey good people!  It's Wednesdayyyy and I am here with a cute litle set of bookmarks.  If you read even a little bit they are worth creating for yourself. or to drop in the mail.. and even to leave a bunch for the members at church or school. I made this paper with some roses that dried in a bunch hanging in the closet.  Unfortunately, I was a the victim of 10 yr old so I have no step out photos to share this time.  I plan on doing some more papers soon and I hope to have those moments captured for you. I simply added my dried roses to my torn papers in the blender,  Turned that into slurry goodness.  It even tinted my papers. Two of the book marks are from a bundle called Card and Tag MediumTemplate Collection and the hearts are are available from a bundle called Envelope and Stationary Large Template Collection .   A term I would like to introduce you to today is INCLUSIONS Inclusions are what you call the added particles to any p...

Are You Ready?

Image
The holidays are upon us.  It's hard to believe isn't it?  Many are already shopping while other have yet to start.  Wherever you are at on your gift buying list don't forget one of the important things to finish it all off....wrapping paper and tags!  There's something special about receiving a gift with a handmade tag and they are simple to make using items from Arnold Grummer's Papermaking .  Let's get started.  First you will want to make some paper pulp using the basic instructions .  This tag was created using leftover scraps of kraft paper.  Once you have that made, pour the pulp into the tag template which has been placed in the deckle of one of the Papermill Kits .  Remove the piece and finish it off as you would a sheet of paper according to the instructions.  Allow it to dry or use an iron or heat tool to dry it quickly. Now, make the sheets of paper you will need for your project using the Papermill Kit....

Old Fashion Valentines with Handmade Paper!

Image
It is getting close to Valentine's Day!  Soon you will be sending a card, gift or both to loved ones.  Make an old fashioned Valentine with your own handmade papers to make it very special. For the Valentines here I used the Arnold Grummer's Heart Template and the Envelope Template from the Cards and Tags Template Collection . I stared with scraps of colored paper, if you are like me you have tons of scraps of paper.  For this project I used papers that were solid (nothing with a white core).   Be sure to follow the directions in your kit or Basic Paper Making video ! Using the Papermill Complete Kit you can see the template for the heart card in the water ready for the pulp to be poured in.    I also cast some flowers and birds in silicone molds I have. Check out what you might have around the house that you could use to cast your paper pulp in. Use the Arnold Grummer's Strainer to drain water.  The strainer is made to sit ...

Hearts of Gold

Image
Share the love with someone special this February by creating this Hearts of Gold gift tag to include with that special little surprise gift or tie it around his or her favorite glass to bring a smile to the one you love.  The tag was created by making paper pulp according to the basic instructions .  The color was achieved by adding some leftover red tissue paper that I had from our Christmas gifts.  I just kept adding it until I reached the color I wanted.  Some of the pieces didn't mix completely in and created red dots throughout the paper which added a nice look to the paper.  The tag was made by pouring the pulp into the tag template and finished according to the instructions for making a piece of paper.  A few weeks ago, I had made some extra sheets of paper using my Papermill Kit so I dug into my stash for a sheet to punch the hearts from.  This was a sheet of tea dyed paper that I had added some gold dust to when I created the sheet of ...

Starting off and having fun!

Hello everyone. My name is Debbie Buckland and I am from New Zealand. I am so excited to be on the Arnold Grummer's Design Team! Well I haven't made paper since before I was married! I think I was still living at home with Mum and Dad as I remember mum complaining there was paper drying everywhere around the house…. LOL Well now I'm annoying my hubby thanks to the Arnold Gummer team! he he I have 7 months to go and I will have my own craft room to work in but until then I am working in the kitchen. I started off opening the Paper Mill Complete Paper Making Kit #301 (Pour Method kit) and watching the DVD provided. (not pictured) and then bought a Blender specifically for the purpose of making paper and a bin. (all on sale of course) Next I followed all instructions that were included and made my very first sheet of paper with used laser printed paper using the pour method… previously I only had ever used the dip method. And the results are so much l...
