Rose Casting Card

Image
Hello, everyone! It's Nancy back today, with one final 2019 project to share!    I just had to make another card using my stash of paper casting pieces! Here's my card for today: Although I'm using a casting stamp provided to me by  Rycraft , Arnold Grummer has some really beautiful designs.  You can find all their Casting Molds HERE . * * * * *  Materials Used in My Project: Arnold Grummer -  White Cotton Linter ; Arnold Grummer -  Iridescent Flakes ; Blender; Rycraft Paper Casting Stamp -  Rose ; Chalk: Unknown - Pink and Green; Papers: DCWV Shimmer Cardstock - Pink; Doily: From My Stash; Ribbon: Celebrate It; Marker: Spectrum Noir - Clear Sparkle. * * * * * Just as a reminder...here's how I did my casting:  The one 8 oz bag of Cotton Linter was enough to make all of these pieces. I simply added a handful of Linter to the blender with some water, and blended. I wanted my Rose c...

Love Flowers?

Image
Do you love flowers? My sister does and I am making the perfect present for her! My sister has the most gorgeous gardens full of flowers. This is just one small section of her yard. She plants hundreds of bulbs, seeds and plants every year. Her birthday is in two weeks so I thought I would make her a special gift!  Flower seed bombs!! What are flower seed bombs? These are simply handmade paper mixed with flower seeds which have been cast into molds.  When ready to plant, simply tuck them into the spot where you want flowers to grow. If it is not going to rain soon, you might want to water them a little. Let nature go to work and soon, you should have a wildflower garden!! I recycled pink, yellow and blue copy paper which was made into pulp according to the directions in the  Trash to Treasure Papermaking book .  Seeds added to the pulp and lightly blended again. Press the pulp into the mold and remove water using...

Ornamental Paper Casts with Tamiko

Hey folks! Can you believe Christmas is at the end of the week?  New Years Day is week from that? Where did the year go? ::smiles::  Now I will be the first to tell you this is not what  intended to post, but my project went missing.. I think I wrapped them or lost them.. ::grumble grumble::  Sooo it's never too late for an ornament, well it isn't at my house.  We create ornaments, and buy them all year round and even if I don't use these few for this tree, I will use them for a tree in the future or gift them to another relative that shops year round for ornaments.  Here is my project.. I had a heap of fun creating these paper cast for the ornaments.  I actually created pulp from some old purple and silver metallic wrapping paper. I collected the wrapping paper of my choice, tore into maybe 1 inch by 1 inch pieces and then tossed them in a large Ziploc, till I was ready to use them.   When I was ready to use them I took a small handful ...

Christmas Greetings Using Molds

Image
I'm getting ready for Christmas gift and card giving. I always like to give a handmade card and gift tag. And what better example of handmade than using my own handmade papers and castings. I made the paper for this card and tag using these basic instructions . For the embellishments I used Arnold Grummer's paper casting molds and UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel). The first mold I used was the Noel mold ; the other was the Snowflake mold . By the way, molds are on sale now— 15% off holiday molds !! The first step when using UTEE is to generously coat the mold with a release agent. I brushed on embossing ink. Mold coated with release agent For the Noel casting I also colored the clear UTEE with alcohol inks to get the beautiful green shading. The best way to color the UTTE is to add alcohol ink, drops at a time, to the dry UTEE. Next, I heated the colored UTEE in my melt pot. When the UTEE was melted, I added  Gold Mica D'Lights  for a hint of sparkle. I ...

Tea Time Note Cards!

Image
You have already heard from me how easy it is to make paper with the Arnold Grummer Paper Making Mill, if you don't believe me, watch the video on  Basic Paper Making HERE  to see how easy handmade paper making can be.    Personal notecards are the best to receive, also great gifts to give as a notecard gift set.  For the cards below I made handmade sheets of paper with my Arnold Grummer Paper Making Mill . Almost all of my papers are made with papers from my shredder.  The color is added with scrap cardstock.  Here are the papers I made using my Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Mill .  The base card was made from shredded papers from our personal shredder. The papers above were made from scraps of leftover papers that were any shade of green and any shade of purple.  These are the results I got. On some bits of   Arnold Grummer's Iridescent Flakes ...
