People & Time

I fell in love with these two stamps from Suzanne Cannon at QuietFire Designs and knew they would be perfect for some friends “cheering up” cards. Since I always make extra sheets of handmade papers and often add color to several sheets of handmade paper at a time, I already had the makings ready to go. The cards actually went together in about 5 minutes each but I am including the instructions from the beginning…smile. Supplies: • Any of the Arnold Grummer r® paper making kits & paper press • Blender, cello sponges and soft towels • A sunny window • Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.) • AG Flower/Leaf Press #395 • Real leaves (pressed and dried) • Hinged stamp positioner • Stamps: Quiet Fire Designs ™ : # 6249 “Some people….”. #6331 “The only time…” • Peach & Turquoise card stock 5 ½ x 8 ½” • Envelopes to fit cards • Scor-Pal™ • Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive • ColorBox™ Dystress Blendable inks:#23109 Graphite, # 23102 salmon, # 23111 Pa

Christmas Cards with handmade papers

Image
Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with Christmas cards.  Christmas is not too far away so it's never too early to start creating. Selecting  red and green handmade papers, I decided to create a Christmas card using Stampendous Stamps and dies. The truck and phrase were stamped and die cut from red paper.  The tree and packages were stamped and die cut from green paper. The background paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then lightly inked with VersaFine Clair green ink. A large green circle was added to the card and the car was adhered on top.  The packages and trees were colored with markers and added to the truck with foam adhesives.  The phrase was stamped and die cut and added to the card with foam adhesives. Thanks for stopping by.

You Are Always In My Thoughts

With the holidays getting closer, more people find themselves needing some cheering up. I wonder if it is because the days are getting shorter, trees are starting to loss their leaves, the year is coming to an end and we are all needing a good rest! But life is getting busier and more hectic with the three major holidays to deal with. Time to get busy and create some cards with uplifting messages….just might send some to myself…smile.
