People & Time

I fell in love with these two stamps from Suzanne Cannon at QuietFire Designs and knew they would be perfect for some friends “cheering up” cards. Since I always make extra sheets of handmade papers and often add color to several sheets of handmade paper at a time, I already had the makings ready to go. The cards actually went together in about 5 minutes each but I am including the instructions from the beginning…smile.

Measure, score and fold the card stock to create 4 ¼ x 5 ½” cards.

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
white slurry and create one or more sheets of handmade paper.
2. Place the sheets into the paper press..
3. Allow the paper to dry.
4. Tear one sheet of handmade paper into 4 pieces approx. 4 x 5 ¼”, set two of them aside.
5. Refer to the finished cards for colors used.
6. Tap the colors of Dystress inks onto the craft sheet.
7. Mist the inks with water.
8. Place the torn sheet of white handmade paper onto the misted ink, picking up colors.
9. Allow the papers to dry.
10. Place the dry inked paper into the stamp positioner.
11. Place either of the stamps onto the paper where you want the verbiage, close the lid.
12.   Open the lid and ink the stamp with Mudslide, close the lid.
13.   Repeat step 7 until the verbiage is as dark as you want it.
14.   Use ZipDry adhesive to attach the dried leaves to the inked & stamped papers.
15.   Attach the inked stamped papers to the front of the cards.
16.   Attach the dried pressed leaves to the cards.
