Celebration Card Using Handmade Paper

Image
Hello, everyone! It's Nancy here with a card I created with some handmade paper. I thought this paper turned out so fun and festive, that I just had to turn it into a special "CELEBRATE" card! Materials Used: Arnold Grummer's PAPERMILL Complete Papermaking Kit ;   Blender; Packing Paper; Red Crinkle Basket Filler; Red Cardstock; Ribbon: Offray - Red Satin; Alphabet Dies: Little B - Block Out. How I did it: During a recent marathon day of paper-making, I made some plain pages using the packing paper that came in a parcel. I then experimented with adding some crinkled strips of basket filler. With one page I cut the filler up, and with one page I kept the filler in the original long pieces. Here are what all three pages look like: Here's a photo of the red crinkled strips, so that you know just what I'm talking about: For my card today, I am using the paper shown in the center of the photo. I'm also using...

Hoppy Birthday Card

Image
Happy Monday everyone. I know, not everyone likes Mondays because it is the start of another work week (If you work outside the home). Today I made a card for my daughters upcoming birthday, her favorite color is purple but I went with whimsy. She will love it anyway LOL I first started out gathering junk mail and old receipts that I no longer need to keep and tore them up, added them to water in the blender and blended away. Now when making your own paper, you can use almost any paper you choose you can also use wrapping paper, tissue paper and just any old junk mail that has lots of color on it and you will have paper pulp with color. How cool is that! I tear up old bills and checks and such and use that to make paper, it is a great way to keep thiefs from getting personal info of yours LOL Any way, after letting the paper dry, I don't always iron my paper, I cut it to the size of a card I wanted to make and worked away. The supplies you will need are: junk mail water ble...

Easter Card

Image
Easter is right around the corner and so is Spring. I am so ready for Spring this year not that we have had a bad winter but I always love Spring. Today I have an Easter card I made from handmade paper. When making handmade paper, think junk mail or something you no longer need to keep in your files and blend them up with a blender and water. You can find everything you need to make your own paper  here . I used an old Easter stamp I have had (can't remember where I got it and it has no manufacturers name on it), then colored it with Faber Castell PITT big brushes. Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter with their families and friends.

Bleeding Hearts Card Front

Image
Hello everyone, Christmas is over and the New Year is starting soon. This year went by so fast, I think or maybe I am just that busy, LOL. For todays post I tried something I have done in the past just not on handmade paper. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it worked great. The card fronts are called Stitching Cards and that was the very first thing I started making before getting into all the other crafts I am into now. Here are the basic things you need to begin. If you enlarge the photo, you can see the holes already put into the paper.  This one may show it better if you enlarge it. Here is a picture of the flowers done. There is a pattern you have to follow. With the handmade paper, some of the holes (because they are so close together) did rip some, but I made due. And here is the completed card front. What you do is adhere this to the front of a cardstock to make a card and then you can add any stamped phrase you would like. This is just many of the hundr...
