From Fabric to Paper Card Holder

Image
From Fabric to Paper Cardholder For my last project for Arnold Grummer's Design Team, I will show you how I use fabric and thread scraps from textile projects and make them into handmade paper. This project will detail how to make a card holder out of handmade paper. If you have been following me very long you may remember the Boho Meets Boro Bag I made for Gwen Lafleur's Artist Tribe. https://lyndashoup.com/boho-meets-boro-bag/ If you are going to carry a bag like that about in public, people are going to talk to you. If you are lucky they will ask for your contact information. So having a business card on hand is a good idea. Having your business cards in a case that matches your bag - well that just adds to your mystique!  If you sew you probably know about all the cut thread ends, the tiny pieces of fabric trimmed from the seam or left over after cutting out your project. If you have ever wondered if there is something you can do with these leftove...

Kirigami with Handmade Paper

Image
Making kirigami with handmade paper is easy and the results can be elegant or quirky depending on your choices. Whether you are using your handmade paper to make into kirigami or adding kirigami pieces into your handmade paper, the results are beautiful. "So what is kirigami?" you may ask. "PAPER CACTUS" for the "brown thumbs" among us Make your own "PAPER CACTUS" using my tutorial below! If any of you are like me, your green thumb never really bloomed and instead dried up and blew away ... and took several plants over the years along with it. I've never really been able to keep a plant going regardless of the steps I've taken. I'd either give my little leafy friends too much sun or not enough; drown them with overwatering or turn them into tumbleweeds with a lack of it. I like plants, don't get me wrong.  I'm just not one to know (or bother knowing for that matter) how to best take care of which type of plant and where to best place them in my home for their maximum health and flourishing. I have a friend whose home looks like a tropical paradise she's THAT gifted with plants and flowers. In all honesty, I've even managed to kill aloe veras and cacti, and they require the LEAST care of al...
