The Bucks Stop Here

© Michele Emerson-Robert 2016 Pretty “girlie” type cards are so easy to create, but I am often challenged to come up with cards for the men in my life. These two cards came together so easily and were quick to complete. I was able to create 6 of each card in about an hour (not counting creating the handmade paper). Supplies ·        Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits ·        Blender, cello sponges and soft towels ·        A sunny window ·        Scraps of white and tan paper (think junk mail, etc.) ·        The PaperCut™ #709 Kraft card stock (cards are 5 x 7”) ·        Envelopes for cards ·        Spellbinder s TM Grand Calibur™ die cutting and embossing machine ·        Westcott™ paper trimmer · ...

Art Deco Quilt Square I

Image
© Michele Emerson-Robert 2016 I have a close friend who is an avid quilter. When I first saw this die set from Tonic Studios™ I knew that I would create some “quilt squares” as gifts for her. This is the first of three (so far). I know she will love them, and they will be perfect to hang on her quilt studio wall. I will be creating them in a neutral color palette of medium blue and golden tan. And since I will be using some items that would normally be tossed, I am doing my part to follow Arnold’s “R’s”: recycle, restyle, repurpose, revamp, restore, renew! Supplies Arnold Grummer® paper making kits Tan & gold scrap paper (think junk mail etc.) Large empty frozen Pizza box Blender, cello sponges, soft towels A sunny window Medium blue text weight paper Die: Tonic Studios™ #183E Verso Art Deco Collectable Die Set Tonic Studios™ #159 Advantage V Blade paper trimmer Scor-Pal™ Tonic Studios™ Tangerine die cuttin...

Scottish Thistle

Image
©Michele Emerson-Roberts 2016 Happy April! Time for flowers to bloom and the weather to get warmer! Yep, I admit it - I do not like to be cold. Each year as the temperature rises, I start getting the urge to get outside and start the paper making process. I will spend a whole day just creating beautiful sheets of handmade paper and many paper castings. This gets repeated many times during the year so that I have a stash on hand. I get a head start on the many projects that are created during the year. The Scottish Thistle is one of my favorite paper molds available from Arnold Grummer. Supplies: ·        Any of the Arnold Grumme r®   paper making kits ·        A sunny window ·        Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels ·        Scraps of yellow paper (think junk mail, etc.) ·        AG’s Sco...

©Michele Emerson-Roberts 2016 Today’s project was an Easter gift for one of my wonderful neighbors. She follows my blog so I couldn’t post it until after Easter without ruining the surprise…. smile. Part of the gift will be a small easel on which to display the art. I like creating these small “art” pieces that can be changed out with the seasons or holidays. This project would also be beautiful on the front of a photo album. Supplies: ·        Any of the Arnold Grumme r®   paper making kits ·        A sunny window ·        Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels ·        Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.) ·        Mold: glass dessert plate (there are hundreds of “molds” available using common things) ·        Beacon ZipDry TM adhesive, double sided foam tap...

Winter….Summer

©Michele Emerson-Roberts  2016 Enough already! I’m ready for some warmer weather! The fruit trees are starting to bud, then we have another freeze! This is confusing for the trees and my body… smile. When I remembered this stamp from IO, it expressed what I was thinking. BTW: I’m really having fun with these backgrounds. They almost create themselves. Safe Travels

©Michele Emerson-Roberts 2016 My favorite nephew graduates this May with a double degree Geology and “land management”.  He is following his dad’s and grandpa’s footsteps and going into the oil business. He will be working towards an MBA next! I wanted to make something special for his graduation, and since he’ll be taking a long trip, I think the little travel box will come in handy for him. Following Arnold’s philosophy of “repurpose, restyle, revamp, restore, renew and recycle is such fun!    Supplies: Some ivory heavy weight handmade paper left over pieces Tan chipboard (I used the back side of a cereal box) Black card stock for card base (4 ¼ x 5 ½ folded) scrap for layering, envelope Graphic 45   Topography papers for layering Recycled small rectangle black box (I used an eyeglass frame box) Dies:    The PaperCut™   # PCDIE019 Triple Flag (Card Making set); #PCDIE020 Triple Flag Layering set; Joy ...

© Michele Emerson-Roberts 2016 This wonderful quote stamp from Stamp A Mania is one of my favorites. Pairing it with one of my favorites dies from Tonic (and I have so many favorites) made it so easy to creating a stunning card that will sure to be a hit with the recipient! The card is beautiful in any color you may want to create it. I just happened to have some purple card stock on the table - here we go!
