WHO's Getting Crafty Today?

These cute little guys were paper-cast using a silicone mold. Although there are some imperfections, I'm very pleased with their final appearance. They are not fragile, and after being painted and sealed, any fiber strays are tamed. I haven't decided if they're going to be ornaments or magnets, or both! The back is half hollow, so it's easy to pierce through the top and add a hanging ribbon or thick thread, (the middle one has a hanger). Yet, they are shallow enough to accommodate a circular magnet. SUPPLIES: Arnold Grummer Paper Making Kit Cotton Rag Fiber  - Arnold Grummer Silicone mold, Owls-Tovolo (each owl is 2.5" h x 1.75" w) Acrylic Paint - pumpkin, sunflower, waterfall, lime yellow, black Clear glossy sealant spray - Krylon INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Victorian Style Cone

Hello, it's Ann here today with a sweet project to share with you.  Since wedding and shower season is coming I was inspired to make something with some handmade paper that I would have appreciated myself at my own wedding shower, many many years ago!  By the way I had a lovely lovely shower. Following the Arnold Grummer Paper Making method I made several different types of sheets of paper and stashed them away for whenever I am inspired to work on a project.  I had made this lovely shade of pink with the dried flowers after the Christmas holidays.  I had some used red tissue and white tissue paper and shredded them and made this paper.  I also added the dried flowers (available through the Arnold Grummer store ). To make a cone similar to this one all you need is a sheet of handmade paper and some glue.  I formed the cone shape and found that using my hot glue gun was the easiest method to get the cone to stay together with our unrolling.  Make...

Recycling and Upcycling

Handmade paper making involves the benefits of recycling discarded papers into new paper, and it also involves including other materials as well as what I like to call up cycling.  It is a win win situation for the creator and the environment. Hi, I m Ann from AnnMakes (http://annmakes.blogspot.com) and the Design Team here At the Arnold Grummer Paper Making Design Team.  Today I am sharing with you a card that is a recycled and an up cycled project.  The up cycling is the original blue card base that was once made from recycled papers and used in a print shop.  It did not make it to the retail market because of some mis folding mishap.  I still found a use for a batch of these misfit cards, I just trimmed the blue cards back to a regular rectangular and even shape, I don't mind that they are not exactly a commercial measurement.  Then I reused a used dryer sheet that I dyed in some strong left over coffee over night.  No waste here.  The...
