Kindness is Contagious Card

While I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day, I absolutely LOVE everything about this card! Hand made sparkly paper, pretty fonts, teddy bears, paper piecing, flowers and kindness :o)

Supplies:
AG Medium Pour Handmold
AG Abaca Pulp Sheet
AG Iridescent Flakes
AG White Cotton Rag Pulp
Scrap Red Cardstock, shredded white office paper, small piece of light colored hand made scrap paper, 8 1/2" x 11" white cardstock, Sunshine Yellow pigment ink (VersaCraft) Heart Punch (Fiskars), two black mini-brads, 2 standard sized black brads, Ribbon, Markers: Brick, Forest, Spring Green (Fabrico), Water spritzer, green chord fiber, green variegated fibers, alcohol ink applicator, beading pliers, PC/Font, Glue, scissors, piercing tool.

Instructions:
1. Create the red sparkly paper as instructed on the Handmold directions using scraps of red cardstock, white office paper, Cotton Rag Pulp and Iridescent Flakes.
2. Cut the red paper to 5 x 8".
3. Create a word processing document on your PC to make the title. The project shows "Lovely Home" Font in 40pt. Print onto red card front.
4. Cut teddy bear pattern from a sheet of AG Abaca Pulp. Soak in water for a few minutes until soft and distress with the velcro of an alcohol ink applicator. This makes the bear look "fuzzy". Bend his paw over at this time (so he can hold the flower stem). Let dry completely. Below is the free pattern I used.
5. Attach mini brads for eyes. Using beading pliers, squish a regular brad into an oval for the nose and attach the brad to the bear's face.
6. Cut a heart from another sheet of red sparkly paper, glue to the bear's tummy.
7. Make a bow out of ribbon and attach with glue.
8. Punch 5 hearts from scrap hand made paper, and one leaf. Ink the edges of hearts with yellow pigment ink, accent with brick marker then spritz with water to soften the brick accents.
9. Place the green chord fiber in the bear's hand, assemble and glue the flower petals to the background red paper. Color the leaf with green markers, spritz to soften but then go back with the darker green for the veins. Let dry and glue into place. Use beading pliers (with cutter) to cut the prongs off a regular size black brad, push what's left of the prongs up inside the back of the brad and glue to the center of the flower.
10. Wrap the bottom of the card with green variegated eyelash fibers (grass).
11. Fold white cardstock in half to create the card base and glue the finished card front onto it.

I hope you'll try some of the techniques I used to create this card, it was so fun to make!  If you do, please share your creation with us.

Craft on!
