Paris...The City Of Love

Dear friends are planning on a visit to Paris to retrace and relive their honeymoon. They will be celebrating their 50th anniversary while there. I will be care taking their home and animals while they are away. This framed mixed media art piece will be waiting for them on their return as a pleasant reminder of their trip.


Supplies:

Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits, paper press
Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
A sunny window
Scraps of off white paper (think junk mail, etc.)
Scraps of black card stock to die cut
Die:  CheeryLynnTM B657 Eifel Tower & Paris
Crafters’ Companion Gemini Jr.™ die cutting and embossing machine
Arch de Triumph stamp: unknown
9 x 9” gray matt board
9 x 9” black matt with 6 x 6” opening
Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive
Double sided foam tape
ColorBox™ grey Chalk Ink pad, # 23109 Graphite Dyestress Blendable ink pad. Stylus
        handle and white tips
Iron

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
        off white slurry and create a random shaped thick piece of handmade paper. (You want a rough
        shape.)
2. Place the paper into the paper press.
3. Allow the paper to dry.
4. Iron the paper to make it smoother.
5. Very lightly apply Graphite Dyestress ink to the piece of handmade paper, add more ink to the
        edges of the paper.
6. Use the grey Chalk ink to stamp the Arch de Triumph onto the handmade paper.
7. Die cut the Eifel Tower and the word “Paris” from the scrap of black card stock.
8. Check for placement inside the 9 x 9 matt.
9. Attach the handmade paper to the light grey matt board with ZipDry adhesive.
10. Attach the die cut word “Paris” to the center of the Arch with ZipDry adhesive.
11. Attach the Eiffel Tower die cut to the right bottom on the handmade paper with ZipDry
        adhesive and tiny pieces of double sided foam.
12. Add layers of double sided foam tape to the edges of the matt board.
13. Place the 9 x9 black matt onto the layered foam creating a shadow box.
14. Place it on a small easel to display.
