Handmade Paper Rose Love

Just when you think you are done with the June weddings, another one gets added to the calendar! Oh well, who doesn’t love a wedding? All the happiness and joy that surrounds the day just make me smile. This mixed media art piece will make a wonderful wedding gift for some dear friends.


Supplies:

Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits & paper press
Blender, cello sponges and soft towels
A sunny window
Scraps of white, tan, olive green and mauve paper (think junk mail, etc.)
Scraps of heavy white card stock to die cut
Dies: Tattered Lace™ #Mono 2: Monumental Moments “Love”
                  SpellbindersTM  “Bitty Blossoms”
                  CheeryLynnTM #B178Flourish Leaf Strip
CheeryLynnTM Big Sister™ die cutting and embossing machine
Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive
Double sided foam
8 x 10” oak frame

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to make
        off white slurry and created a sheet of medium weight lightly speckled handmade paper.
2. Repeat steps 1 & 2 creating speckled tan, mauve and several sheets of olive green paper.
3. Place the papers in the paper press.
4. Allow the papers to dry.
5. When the papers are dry, die cut a bunch of leaves from the olive green papers.
6. Die cut one large and two small roses from the mauve paper.
7. Die cut a bunch of leaves from different sades of green scraps of handmade paper.
8. Die cut several layers of the word LOVE from scrap heavy weight white cardstock.
9. Die cut one LOVE from the off white handmade paper.
10. Layer the die cut word and glue together the layers, with the die cut off white handmade
        paper as the top layer.
11. Attach the sheet of tan handmade paper onto the backing board from the frame with
        ZipDry adhesive.
12. Secure the covered backing board into the frame.
13. Center & attach the layered word LOVE to the covered backing board.
14. Roll the three roses.
15. Arrange the leaves and roses onto the left side of the “O”.
16. When you are pleased with the arrangement, attach the leaves and roses with ZipDry adhesive.
