Hands of Faith

© Michele Emerson-Robert 2016

When I was playing several weeks ago with paints, stencils and handmade paper backgrounds, I found the whole process addictive and just keep going and going! Each background “speaks” to me as to how it wants to be completed. Sometimes it is with a stamp and a ribbon, or perhaps it is a die cut and a ribbon. Changing the colors can make a huge difference in the “feel” of a stenciled background (compare the blue and white card to the peach and blue card from Aug. 19th--the same stencil was used.

  1. Michele, what I love about the handmade paper in this card is the way the fibers and ink have 'naturalized' edges of the spiraling blocks. The spiral reminds me a meditation 'labyrinth' a local church here maintains near the river that is open and available to everyone. A person walks the labyrinth, following a thought, prayer, sense of presence with God, nature ... pavers mark the path. Your card takes me to that peaceful place and a welcome moment of reflection - not something we usually get in the middle of a busy work day. Thank you.
