Mixed Media Angel Canvas with Tamiko

Hey people!!  First of all, it is so great to back with the design team for Arnold Grummer!!  I am looking forward to working with the new team and making more paper projects!  Let's get started!!

Today's project is a mixed media canvas.  If you have ever been to the Arnold Grummer website, and I hope that you have.  The site is full of information in regards to lessons, projects and products. On the site is an awesome collection of paper casting molds.  I found this mold, called the Angel with Lute that I had to cast! I have truly being hoarding this one thing, cotton linter squares. So guess who used them for the first time! ((cheesey smile))  Anywho, I think the linters require a lil more soaking then I allowed. While they do break down, they actually bonded faster then I personally like.  Maybe my opinion will change when I am sure I am using them correctly. I didn't reference my book this time, but the AG site has a great book called Trash to Treasure, whereas there is more in dept explaination.

The Angel with Lute is a pretty large cast so I used over 30 squares of the linter.  I took the linter and placed it in the blender for a bit with over 4 cups of water.  Once it had turned into the ever popular paper slurry, I poured some of the water off and I took small batches of the slurry in a strainer and pressed even more water out.  I then used tweezers, so that I was able to spread out the pulp in the smallest quantity I could.  That placement enable the better probability that all its many details would come into fruition as it dried.  Once dry, I used Twinkling H2Os and Pearl X to shade and color the casted angel.  I prepared a background on a slightly larger canvas than the angel and added a quote.

I hope you enjoyed today's project!  Please take a moment to subscribe to the AG email, so you will be aware of all sales and new products!  Also take a moment and check out Arnold Grummer's YouTube channel and subscribe there too!
