Tea for Two...or Three

Is there anything more peaceful than having a cup of tea and a long visit with a friend? Taking time from our busy days and just “being” instead of “doing” is a rare treat. I have dedicated some time before the rush of Christmas and the New Year to just sit and share the moments with a few friends and let them know how much they mean to me. Serve special teas and homemade cookies!

Supplies:

• Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits & paper press
• Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
• A sunny window
• Scraps of off white & tan paper (think junk mail, etc.)
• Dark brown card stock for cards
• Envelopes to fit cards
• Rycraft®  # 353 “Cup of Tea”, #318 “Tea Time” & # 495 Tea Leaves cookie or paper
        casting stamps
• Stamps: Marianne Designs™ #KJ1710 “Tea is like…..” & #KJ1707 “There is…..”
         Unknown: “A cup of tea…”
• Tonic Studios™ paper trimmer
• Scor-Pal™
• Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive
• Double sided foam
• ColorBox™ Archival ink pad “Mudslide”
• Prismacolr pencils medium brown
• Hinged stamp positioner

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
    off white/tan slurry and cast one or more of each of the “Tea” castings.
2. Allow the castings to dry.
3. Use the Prismacolor pencils to add details & shading around the cup & saucer and the tea pot.
4. Set the castings aside.
5. Create one or more sheets of handmade paper.
6. Place the paper into the paper press.
7. When the paper is dry, tear it into pieces to stamp on approx. 2 ½ x 3 ¼” & 2 ¼ x 3 ¾”.
8.  Place one of the pieces of torn handmade paper into the hinged stamp positioner.
9.  Place the stamp face down onto the paper.
10. Close the lid of the positioner, picking up the stamp on the lid.
11. Ink the stamp with Mudslide ink.
12. Stamp the verbiage. Re-ink and re-stamp as many times as needed.
13. Repeat steps 6 through 12 for the second & third stamp
14. Attach the stamped “Hug” piece of handmade paper to the right side of a (landscape) folded card
      with ZipDry™ adhesive.
15. Attach the cup & saucer casting to the left side of the folded card with double sided foam.
16. Attach the verbiage “A cup of tea…” to the bottom of a (portrait) folded card with ZipDry™
      adhesive.
17. Attach the Teapot casting to the center top of the card with double sided foam.
18. Attach the “always” stamped paper in the right upper corner (landscape) of the folded card.
19. Attach the Tea Leaves casting to the bottom left of the card with double sided foam
20. Tell your friends how much they mean to you with a hand written message inside the cards.
21. Present the cards to them when they are with you having tea.
