Boo....Trick or Treat

I LOVE Halloween…

I LOVE Halloween….it is such fun to see all the neighborhood kids in costume and try to guess who they are. I try to fill their sacks with healthy snacks but don’t always succeed….with my husband right beside me with a huge bowl of candy! He is just a big kid at heart! Smile.
This pumpkin wreath was so easy to create, with one of the many paper molds from my collection, and the additions of a few stitches and some fall leaf beads.
Did you know that you can use just about anything for a paper casting mold….look around your home for dishes with textures, candy molds, rubber stamps, embossing plates etc.

Supplies:

Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits
Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
A sunny window
Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.)
12–14” twig wreath
Small plastic fall colored leaves
Embroidery floss: Black and variegated (fall colors), embroidery needle,
Pencil, 1” foam brush
3-4 yards of 1 ¼” Gold velvet ribbon, florist wire
Beacon QuickGripTM and ZipDry™ adhesives

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
white slurry and cast one or more of the pumpkin castings.
2. Allow the casting to dry.
3. Use the brush to apply ZipDry™ adhesive to the back of the paper casting. (Note: this will seal
the back of the casting and make it easier to stitch.)
4. Allow the adhesive to dry.
5. When the casting is dry, use the pencil to lightly write the words Boo and Trick or Treat.
6. Stitch the words with Black floss.
7. Use the variegated floss to attach the fall leaves to the casting with a French knot.
8. Wrap the twig wreath with the gold velvet ribbon.
9. Tie a multi loop bow.
10. Attach to the bow to the wreath on the left side with a piece of florist wire.
11. Attach the pumpkin paper casting to the .wreath on the right hand side with  QuickGrip™
        adhesive.
12. Hang on your door, place in a window or on an easel for display.
