Let it snow!

One of my favorite papers to re-cycle is metallic gift wrapping. I ask all my friends to use metallic paper during this season and then give the scraps all to me!

This is my little card I created using a sheet of my hand made paper that I created from an Arnold Grummer Paper Making kit.  I used the rougher side to stamp a Susan K. Weckesser image on since I wanted to reserve the flatter, smoother side to write my note on. I also added some Golden bead gel across the bottom of the card and added some snowflakes from The Ribbon Resource. ( I cut the snowflakes off the ribbon and attached them to the card )
One of the reasons I love making my own paper is the cool effects that inclusions can give you. When you hold the card up to a light source you can see the bits of paper chunks, which also look like falling snow. You get this effect by not completely blending your paper pulp.

They also have awesome Envelope & Stationary templates for you to use in your large mold so you can make these nifty hand made paper envelopes too.

Fold it up and you have a matching envelope, how cool is that?

A letter in the sender's own handwriting is more personal than an e-mail.

  5. This is so cute! The pastel color paper is so pretty! I love the photo of the paper with the light, looks like the snowman in the moon. I agree that a hand written note or card is so much nicer than an e-mail!
