I am blessed to have the opportunity to conceive, develop and teach “Healing With ART” classes to some of the 40,000 Veterans and/or Veterans spouses that we have here in Cochise County. June’s classes focus on making handmade paper and handmade paper casting. Last week’s paper making class was a wonderful experience for all of us. The attendees each created 10 to 15 sheets of handmade paper. I warned them that creating beautiful as well as useful handmade paper is addictive and they agreed. However, when I was looking through what I have left, I came across this pretty purple piece just waiting to be finished! A few years ago, my third child, Candice, and I were discussing the nature of dreams and their meanings. We both have a huge interest in what dreams mean and how they can inform our lives. She has been diligent about writing her dreams down. I, on the other hand, tend to forget my dreams as soon as my feet hit the floor. As I thought about what to create for this next project, I pulled out my box of treats from Arnold Grummer's Papermaking and was reminded of the Make Your Own Book kit. I thought just how perfect this would be for writing my dreams down. If I could keep the book next to me on the night table, I could write my dreams down before my feet hit the floor! Of course, it would have to function much like an art journal so that if my dreams were extremely vivid and visual, I could draw them instead of writing narratives about them. June is the preferred month for weddings and I have seven to attend this month. I found this photo album on sale and knew it would make a perfect wedding gift. Lucky that the store had 10 of them….so I bought all and will make one for each of the seven June weddings and get a head for future weddings…you never know when someone will pop the question…smile. Hello, everyone! It's Nancy here with a fun new project, created with some great handmade paper. Materials Used: Arnold Grummer's PAPERMILL Complete Papermaking Kit ;   Blender; Stampendous -  Leafy Imprint Perfectly Lear Stamps Set Inks: Stampin' Up - Old Olive, Lucky Limeade; Green cardstock card base; Ribbon: Celebrate It. How I did it: Today I'm using the paper that I made from packaging paper. I haven't really done any stamping on handmade paper, so I was anxious to use this beautiful leaf stamp to try it out. I chose a couple of stamps I wanted to use. Once I had them loaded with ink, I misted them with a spritz of water before stamping them I love the way the stamping turned out! I used both greens on each imprint. I mounted the finished piece on a green cardstock card base. Then all it needed was a pretty green bow! The busy season is upon us! Many of us have social events galore to attend; birthday parties, graduation, weddings, BBQs, house-warming and "just because". Take advantage of the weather and party on! I made this standard sized A4 card with 1/2 sheets and scraps on the "fly" for one of these such gatherings. SUPPLIES: AG Paper-making kit AG Cotton Linter AG Sparkles, Metal & Micas AG Botanicals OTHER: green heart mini-brads, white acrylic paint, Green ink (Chartreuse leaf Ranger Ink), Metalic foil hinge sticker (Stylines by Artquest) Rub-on Words (Scenic Route), 2 small lt blue mini-brads, ribbon. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut background paper to A4 size. 2. Cut 1/2" strips of green paper to form a frame, glue in place. Add a heart mini-brad to each corner. 3. Cut 3/4" by 1 1/4" strips of scraps to make the banners. Hand-cut the triangle out of the bottom. Ink the edges and glue into place. Add the ribbon, securing around the back and...
