One Nation

The 9-11-2001 attack on our country was devastating. The way the citizens came together was amazing! The values and hearts of the American people are huge! We believe in helping each other (and the world) get through the “tough times” and the attack was one more “tough time”!
Below is my tribute to those who came together…one more time!


Supplies:

Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits & paper press
Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
A sunny window
Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.) 
Statue of Liberty mold (the back of a Stamp-A-Mania stamp)
Scrap of heavy weight handmade paper to die cut
Scrap of heavy weight dark blue handmade paper to die cut the large oval
Red with silver stars handmade paper ( purchased and gifted from a friend)
Red cardstock and envelope

Stamp: Impression Obsession™ “F14644 “One flag…”
Crafters’ Edge Crossover II™ die cutting and embossing machine
Westcott™ paper trimmer
Scor-Pal™ 
Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive
Double sided foam tape
TonicTM  Nuvo Mousse Gold
ColorBox™ Archival Ink pad Fireberry
Nellie Snellen™ Embossing folder EEB016 “Tiny Stars”
Tiny silver star
Tall skinny frame with glass (my frame is 4 ½ x 11 ½”)

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
        white slurry and cast one or more of the Statue of Liberty castings and one or more sheets of 
        medium weight handmade paper..  
2. Place the paper into the paper press.
3. Allow the casting and paper to dry.
4. When the casting is dry, use a small piece of sponge to high light the design with the 
        gold Nuvo™ Mouse.
5. Apply a tiny bit of Fireberry ink to the flame.
6. Cut the red/silver star paper a bit larger than the backing for the frame.
7. Scrunch the paper and attach it to the backing with ZipDry™ adhesive.
8. Die cut several of the word “Believe” from the scraps of white heavy weight handmade paper.
9. Layer and glue together the die cut word.
10. Place small pieces of double sided foam to the back of the Statue of Liberty paper casting 
        and attach the casting to the lower part for the covered backing.
11. Attach the word “Believe” to the top of the backing. Attach the tiny silver star as the dot of 
        the “I”.
12. Insert into the frame.
13. Place on an easel to display.
14. Measure, cut, score and fold the card stock to create a 4 ¼ x 5 ½” card.
15. Emboss the front of the card with the folder and machine
16. Stamp the “one flag” with the Fireberry ink pad onto a piece of the white handmade paper.
17. Die cut the stamped piece with the smaller oval die.
18. Die cut the scrap of Dark blue handmade paper with the larger oval die.
19. Place small pieces of double sided foam between the oval layers.
20. Attach the oval layers to the front of the card.
