Never Forget
As the month of September nears, I reflect back on 9-11-2001 and want to make a special card to send out to friends and family. It seems like yesterday when my Mom called me and said “turn on the TV”. What a shock to see one of the Twin Towers burning as the second tower was hit! I will never forget what transpired.
Supplies:
• Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits & paper press
• Blender, cello sponges & soft towels
• A sunny window
• Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.)
• Scrap of aluminum can (soda can) to die cut
• Scraps of chip board (I used cereal box)
• Black cardstock for card bases
• Envelopes to fit cards
• Embossing folder: random organic design
• Die: “never forget” unknown
• Stamp: “In memory” unknown
• Crafter’s Edge Crossover II die cutting & embossing machine
• Westcott™ paper trimmer
• Scor-Pal™
• Beacon FabTacTM adhesive
• ColorBox™ Archival Ink pad Wicked Black, Dyestress Ink pads #23109 Graphite and
#23111 Palomino, #23102 Salmon
• Waterproof work surface (plastic bag or plate)
• Water mister bottle and water
Instructions:
1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
white slurry and create one or more sheets of medium weight white paper
2. Place the wet sheets of paper into the paper press..
3. Allow the paper to dry.
4. When the paper is dry, tear the sheet in half.
5. Tap the three colors of Dystress ink pads (just a tiny bit of Salmon & Palomino) onto the
waterproof surface.
6. Lightly mist the ink with water.
7. Place the torn piece of handmade paper onto the misted ink.
8. While the ink to drying, measure, cut, score & fold the black card stock to create a
4 ¼ x 5 ½” card.
9. Use the folder and machine to emboss the front of the card.
10. Tear a piece of the paper approx. 4 x 3 ¼”.
11. Stamp the image onto the torn paper.
12. Attach the stamped paper to the right hand side of the card.
13. Die cut the “never forget” twice from chip board and once from the soda can.
14. Layer and glue the die cut.
15. Attach the layered die cut to the left side of the card.
16. Write a personal message inside the card.
