Our memories are so precious. Having a special place to jot down special dates, day to day things that were important, or silly things that happened to us can be extra special when we or our loved ones read about our lives. This little book is a gift for my dear friend’s grand daughter and her new husband to have a place to start saving those memories.

Supplies:

  • Anyof the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits
  • Cotton Press™ paper casting mold “Love Birds”
  • Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
  • A sunny window
  • Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.)
  • Scraps of white card stock to die cut
  • Maroon 5 x 7 hard bound journal
  • DIE: Elizabeth Crafts/Quiet Fire Designs™ #1197 Memories
  • Tonic Studios™ Tangerine die cutting and embossing machine
  • Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive, double sided foam tape
  • Chalks: light pink, light green
  • Small sponge applicators to apply chalks
  • Marvy Uchedia # YG 635 La Plume Permanent fine tipped marker

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create  white slurry and cast one or more of the Love Birds castings.
(NOTE: I usually do multiple and/or different castings at a time to use for later projects.)

2. Allow the casting to dry.

3. Use one of the foam applicators to lightly apply the pink chalk to the flower petals, the inside heart rim and the "banner".

4. Use another foam applicator to lightly apply the green chalk to the birds, rose stem and branch,

5. Use the La Plume marker to add the tiny eyes to the birds.

6. Die cut 2 of the word "Memories". Layer and glue them together.

7.  Apply pink chalk to the word.

8.  Attach the paper casting to the lower center of the front journal cover with double sided foam tape.

9. Attach the layered word above the paper casting with ZipDry© adhesive.

10. Add a matching pen before you present the gift of the journal.
