Under the Sea
Summer is in full swing and many people are spending their days either around their pool or at the beach. Since I live in SE Arizona a very long way from the ocean and I do not have a pool, neither of these are an option for me….smile. Creating beach/ocean themed cards using some of the handmade papers from the Veterans’ class are the next best thing! And they will be great for Aug. birthdays too!
Supplies:
• Any of the Arnold Grummerr® paper making kits & paper press
• AG Iridescent Flakes
• Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
• A sunny window
• Scraps of white paper (and blue think junk mail, etc.)
• Dies: Ocean things: MemoryBox
Word: Tonic Studio #2350e hello
• Crafters’ Edge Crossover II™ die cutting and embossing machine (Absolutely LOVE this
machine!)
• Westcott™ paper trimmer
• Scor-Pal™
• Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive
• Dark blue card stock and envelopes to fit cards
• Marvy 920-S #0 White pen.
Instructions:
1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
light blue slurry with some iridescent flakes and create one or more sheets of medium weight
handmade paper.
2. Place the sheets of handmade paper in the paper press to dry.
3. When the sheets are dry, tear or cut to the size you need.
4. Die cut one or more of the two ocean dies and word.
5. Measure, cut, score and fold the dark blue card stock to create 4 ¼ x 5 ½” cards.
6. Use the ZipDry™ adhesive to attach the die cuts to the front of the cards. (Yep, I used every
“drop out” circle and dot from the die….smile.)
7. Write your message inside the cards with a white pen.
