Encouragement

Do we ever have enough cards that offer encouragement? I love making them, sending them and receiving them. I will often create 10 – 20 cards at a time. Just knowing that someone is thinking of you is a plus! These two CAS (clean and simple) cards will indeed offer the recipients some uplifting thoughts.

Supplies:

Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits & paper press
Blender, cello sponges and soft towels
A sunny window
Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.)
Dark blue cardstock 5 ¼ x 8 ½ & a scrap to die cut, olive cardstock 7 x 10”, envelopes
Stamps: Impression Obsession E14743 “Take a Moment” & F17076 “Your spark…..”
Die: Birds…unknown
Tonic Studios™ Tangerine die cutting and embossing machine
Tonic Studios™ paper trimmer
Scor-Pal
Beacon ZipDry adhesive
ColorBox™ Dyestress Blendable™ Ink pads: #23106 Scuba, #23107 Pansy, #23102 Salmon,
        #23123 Cabernet, # 23117 Bumble Bee, # 23121 Tomato, #23118 Inchworm, ColorBox Black
         Archival ink pad
Non stick craft sheet/waterproof surface
Water mister bottle and water
Iron

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
white slurry and create several sheets of medium weight white handmade paper.
2. Place the sheets in the paper press.
3. Allow the sheets to dry.
4. When the paper is dry cut it into one piece approx. 3 x 4” and one piece approx. 3 ¼ x 5 ¼”.
Set the rest of the paper aside for future projects.
5. Iron the handmade paper to make it smoother.

BLUE card:
1. Tap the pads of Scuba and Pansy Dyestress ink onto the nonstick craft sheet. Mist with water
and lay the small sheet of handmade paper onto the inks. Rub or pat the paper to pick up the inks.
Keep the colors light. When you are happy with the background, set the paper aside to dry.
2. When the inked paper is dry, stamp “Take a moment…….” with ColorBox™ black Archival ink.
3. Die cut the birds out of a scrap of dark blue cardstock.
4. Score and fold the dark blue cardstock to create a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ card.
5. Center and attach the inked/stamped handmade paper to the dark blue folded card with ZipDry
    adhesive.
6. Use ZipDry adhesive to attach the die cut birds.

OLIVE card:
1. Tap the rest of the Dyestress ink pad colors onto the nonstick surface. (Think foreworks.)
2. When you are happy with the background, set the paper aside to dry.
3. When the inked paper is dry, stamp “Your spark…….” with black Archival ink.
4. Score and fold the olive card stock to create a 5 x 7” card.
5. Center and attach the inked/stamped handmade paper to the olive folded card with ZipDry
    adhesive.
