Valentine Popup Card

Image
I'm always excited when I can combine things I love. In this case it's a Valentine card, handmade paper and new software. The handmade paper that I used for this card was made following these basic instructions . I added pink Angel Wings , pink tinted tissue . I molded this pulp using the three hearts template . The full tempate was too large for the card that I wanted to make. So, I painted a water line around the heart shapes so I could pull them apart and maintain that beautiful deckle edging. Here are the two separated pieces. I used Popup Card Studio and a free file designed by Michele Harvey for the inside of my card. I cut Michele's Popup Card Studio file on my Zing electronic cutting machine . You can see that I added a heart cut out of a scrap of the handmade paper. I used a quick drying liquid adhesive to adhere my handmade paper hearts to the front of the card. I also added a bit of bling. Here's my completed card. Carole

A Heart & Rose Box

Image
©Michele Emerson-Roberts 2015 I love paper casting using the many molds available from the Arnold Grummer website. When I created the heart paper castings a couple of weeks ago for the “Heart Potpourri Holder,” I also had several other projects in mind and cast additional hearts. (Note: I always make additional castings when I have the supplies out…..smile.) I had picked up the little wooden box and knew one of the many paper casting would be the perfect element for the top of the box. I actually had pieces of the dark red and dark green paper left from some other projects and used them for this project…… however the instruction below are to make new sheets of each as well as a new casting. Supplies: Any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits   Microwave , heat tool or a sunny window Heart casting mold Blender, cello sponges and soft towels Beacon ZipDry™ and QuickGrip™ Adhesive, Scraps of white, red, and dark green paper (think junk mail,...

A "charm"-ing heart banner

Image
After making my paper using the Arnold Grummer Papermill Kit   following these directions  I used a stencil to cut out my hearts. 2 large hearts and one smaller heart, then I used a letter stencil to cut out my letters. I hand sewed around the edges of the small heart with embroidery thread and then used my Helmar Tacky Glue to adhere the letters on front. Finished up the hearts with a faux stitch using my Micron pen. I made LOTS of paper charms using these paper casting instructions. I also dipped my charms in Utee Melting Pot to give them a glossy hard finish. It really darkens the colors as you can see from the pictures below. I also made a very short video of me making a paper cast using the Arnold Grummer Mini Assortment Casting Mold .   Once all my pieces were made I began laying out everything so I could see how everything would fit together. Once I was happy with the arrangement I began gluing the paper hearts together with my H...

Love Is In The Air

Image
The holidays came and went in an instant, January found me traveling to Califonia to a Craft & Hobby Industry trade show and then off to visit family, and there went January!  It's been a while since the last post I shared on paper making.  Now that February has arrived I still felt the need to spread a little LOVE! Being fond of banners of all type, I once again created this one using the "bordering technique" on each handmade paper sheet made using the  pour method to create the panels of the banner.  For an excellent source for adding color by bordering, and so many other techniques, I would recommend a copy of  "trash-to-treasure paper making" by Arnold Grummer. Some hearts are made using the  triple heart  template and red paper pulp.                                       After each sheet was complete embellish...

Groundhog Day Card

Image
It's Groundhog Day!  Hi, it's Ann from the Arnold Grummer Design Team and also from the blog: Annmakes. http://annmakes.blogspot.com In the spirit of the season I thought I would have some fun and share with all of you my dry sense of humour towards winter.  I made this card featuring handmade paper using the Arnold Grummer® paper making kit .  I used a sheet of a sky blue paper I made from recycling blue advertisements, and scraps of off white and white papers I had made in previous projects.  No waste here. I think this makes for a good kids project too, it is pretty easy. Materials used: Arnold Grummer® Paper Making Kit Paper from my recycling bin: blue advertisements and white envelopes from utility companies. Brown coloured pencils A stamp of a Groundhog or a Mole?  from a children's set of stamps Some black stamping ink Double sided adhesive To begin, I used handmade papers I had made a while back using the Arnold Grummer® paper mak...

I did use the left over papers that were previously created but the instructions below are for making new sheets of handmade paper. Hi everyone, Tamiko here.. I was very anxious to use one of the many templates that is available over at the Arnold Grummer website , and you will be too!  Never had I used a template that allowed me to create my very own heart shaped cards, with just a simple fold!! I am really having a ball learning how to play with batches of pulp to get the right thickness of my finished sheets of paper. I think i will be ready for inclusions (added extras) in my paper with my next few batches!  Fingers crossed!  Well on to today's project! My list of supplies included: Any of the Arnold Grummer Paper Mill Kits Arnold Grummer Folding Heart Template Blender Various Colored papers Needle Thread/Embroidery Floss Pen alpha mini stamps ink pad Paper Beads Scissors Helmar Craft & Hobby PVA Glue   First I gathered some papers to tear into one inch pieces and placed them in the blender with almost three cups of water.  Saw a napkin and decided to toss...
