A Lovely Little Note Pad

Hi, Ann here today with a sweet and practical project for you.  I just can't get enough of those sticky notes and note pads.  I use them all the time to make notes and to mark pages, to use as reminders around my house and in my car, to leave instructions for my kids and so many other ways.  So, when I got to work with the Arnold Grumme r line of paper making products I was really excited to see that they sell this kit that allows you to simply make a hard cover note pad for a pad of sticky notes.  I also wanted to play with a mold and some pulp.  Here is what I made: The supplies I used: Arnold Grummer's Paper Making Kit available  here Arnold Grummer's  Heart and Flower  Mold #705  Arnold Grummer's  Books a la carte! #1603 Scraps of red, white, and pink scrapbook papers. Stenciled Valentine Wall Hanging

Image
Getting ready for Valentine's Day here—in the middle of Ohio's deep freeze!! I like to make my paper outside, but that's out of the question with the weather we've been having. So, when I looked for pink handmade paper in my stash for a Valentine project, I was disappointed to find that I'd used it all. But, I did find some lovely white paper, and I decided to make it make it a Valentine color with a stencil. I used my Zing electronic cutting machine to cut my stencil out of acetate. The stencil pattern was a free downloadable file from Bird's Cards . I needed my paper to be smaller than the original piece. I also wanted to retain the soft, irregular deckled edges, so I painted a line of water along what would be my cut lines, and gentle pulled the paper apart. Here's my paper and stencil in my cardboard box spray booth, ready to be misted.  I tried several colors of misting spray, but LuminArte's Ginger Flower Radiant Rain Shimmer...

HELLO with Love- Mini Book with Tamiko

Image
Hey, hey good people!!  I am Tamiko and I am one of the newest members of the Arnold Grummer Design Team!  I am so excited to get the opportunity to learn, create and share this experience with you!!  I cannot tell you how many times I have received paper crafted goods and I have unintentionally dissected it to figure out where certain parts of the item came from.  The most recognizable thing to me is paper!  Guess who won't have that problem anytime soon?!?! ::giggles::  I am more than excited!! OK.. Let's get on to today's project!! Today's project was experimental for me!  I love to make books, but I never finish them to give-a-way! What I first had to do was to get myself familiar with the  Arnold Grummer Papermill Kit.   You can use any of them to create the papers of your dreams.  That is NOT an exaggeration!!  The papers used in brown was from a recycled soda pop box and the pink w...

Butterflies are free

Image
Hi everyone, this is my first post as an official member of the Arnold Grummer Design Team and I am so excited about making paper. It has been a blast to play with and it thrills my frugal heart to know that I am recycling! I admit I was a little timid about making actual paper at first so I began by making lots of pulp ( which are processed fibers ) and watching lots of Arnold Grummer videos . I really enjoy watching his videos and would love to have met him in person, I bet he was a lot of fun to be around!  The first video that really caught my eye was the one on Paper Pulp Painting.  So I took his idea and ran with it.While I working on it I had artists from the studio peering over my shoulder as I literally painted a canvas with paper pulp. I think what I enjoyed the most was using the pin technique to paint the black lines with. When you dip the pin into your paper slurry ( water with fibers ) it will pick up the fibers and you can then use the pin to "draw"...
