More paper Making & Casting with the VETS
Another amazing class teaching some of our 40,000 Cochise county Veterans & their spouses how to make handmade paper and paper castings! The photo shows just a few of the castings All casting forms are from Rycraft who make the most beautiful designs on the market…be sure and check out their website! Next month I will be creating some Fall and Christmas cards with the castings…be sure to stay tuned…smile.
Supplies:
• Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits
• Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
• A sunny window
• Scraps of white, tan and green paper (think junk mail, etc.)
• Rycraft TM Paper casting stamps:R353 Cup of Tea, R495 Tea Leaves, R… Tea Time,
R270 Tree of Life, R368 Nativity R032 Pine cone, R335 Pine Garland, R449
• Prismacolor pencils in shades a bit darker than the paper castings.
Instructions:
1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create
white slurry and cast one or more of each of the castings. (If you have enough slurry, create
some sheets of handmade paper too!)
2. Allow the casting to dry.
3. When the castings are dry add a bit of color with the Prismacolor pencils.
4. Pop by in Nov. to see some fun projects using the castings
The Rycraft “stamps” are wonderful; to use for stamping designs on homemade cookies too….smile.
