Create with your Soul
“Create With Your Soul”
© Michele Emerson-Robert 2018
I love sending handmade paper cards with uplifting messages almost as much as I love receiving them…smile. Creating the many different colored backgrounds in a day is so easy. It is a delight to see how they all turn out differently. Deciding which “message” goes with the many beautiful backgrounds is such fun!
Supplies
· Any of the Arnold Grummer® paper making kits
· Blender, strainer, cello sponges and soft towels
· A sunny window
· Scraps of white paper (think junk mail, etc.)
· Scraps of black cardstock to die cut
· Black cardstock cut and folded to create a 4 ¼ x 5 ½” card
· Envelope to fit the card
¼ sheet of coordinating paper for layering
·
Stamp: Visible Image stamp VIS-CWS-01 “Create with your soul”
· Tonic Studios™ Tangerine die cutting and embossing machine
· Tonic Studios™ paper trimmer, scissors
· Beacon ZipDryTM adhesive, double-sided foam tape
· ColorBox™ Black Permanent Ink pad
· Various colors of Tim Holt Distress® Oxide Ink pads
· Non-stick craft sheet, water mister bottle
Instructions:
1. Follow the instructions found in any of the Arnold Grummer™ paper making kits to create white slurry
and create numerous sheets of light/medium weight handmade paper.
2. Allow the sheets of paper to dry.
3. When the paper is dry, cut or tear it into four equal pieces..
4. Tap the pads of various colors of oxide ink onto the nonstick craft sheet. Mist with water and lay the
¼ sheet of handmade paper onto the inks. Rub or pat the paper to pick up the inks. When you are happy
with the background, set the paper aside to dry.
5. Die cut the small feather from a scrap of black cardstock.
6. Stamp the verbiage in the center of the handmade paper.
7. Cut, score, and fold the back card.
8. Cut the coordinating paper a bit smaller than the card.
9. Center and adhere it to the front of the card with ZipDry™ adhesive.
10. Cut or tear the stamped handmade paper a bit smaller than the layered paper. Center it and adhere.
11. Place tiny pieces of double-sided foam tape to the back of the feather die cut and attach the feather
to the right side of the card.
*This would make a nice piece to display on a small easel.
